The period photographs are extracted from a publication released on occasion of Mussolini’s visit to Genova on May 14, 15, and 16, 1938-XVI EF (Era fascista).

The headquarters of the Federazione dei Fasci di Combattimento di Genova (The Federation of Political Combat Groups of Genova) on occasion of Il Duce’s (Mussolini) visit.

Fascist District Group

Present Day: Carabinieri Headquarters(The Carabinieri are a militarized police which shares policing, military and civil duties with other Italian police branches).

Casa Littoria (House of Lictor; political building) of the Fascist District Group named NICOLA BONSERVIZI.
Present Day: Municipal Offices.

GENOVA, The “Navigator”,
A statue by Antonio Morera, moved to the confine of the Copertura del Bisagno in honor of “Il Duce”. The axes have been removed from the fasces, the original statue has been replaced, and the inscription, “Youth of the Lictor, make all seas our seas”, has been removed.

(Was already the headquarters of the Provincial Committee of the O.N.B. (Opera Nazionale Ballila; Fascist Youth Organization).

I.N.F.P.S. (National Fascist Welfare Institute) building, the writing on the façade has been modified; moving it from the cornice and eliminating the word “fascista” from the institutions initials. The ornament that decorates the corner of the façade and Via Cadorna has not been altered however.

Clinic for nervous and mental disorders, the two fasces that hung on each side of the main balcony window have been removed.

A freeway ramp, on the base of the pillars holding the bridge up, three fasces are visible which have all had their axes removed.
