of his jacket.
He appears to have been an ex-infantry lieutenant.
The uniform comes from his family.

Sewn above the Fasces bundle is the insignia of Austrian assault units
from the First World War.
The squad operated in Gorizia with the motto: “Flangar non Flectar”
Assault
troop badge embroidered in white thread on black cloth. The
motto “Italia o Morte” (Italy or Death) was used by both legionnaires
at Fiume, and squads during the March on Rome.
